EU Sustainable Development Strategy

    In June 2001 the European Council met in Gothenburg and agreed on the first EU Sustainable Development Strategy, adding an environmental dimension to the Lisbon process for employment, economic reform and social cohesion. In June 2006, following the re-launch of the Lisbon Strategy, European Council adopted an ambitious and comprehensive renewed Sustainable Development Strategy for an enlargerd EU.
