The INTERACT Programme is funded by the European Regional Development Fund and is part of the Community Initiative INTERREG.
INTERACT stands for INTERREG Animation Cooperation and Transfer.
INTERACT has a wide geographic scope covering the 25 current and new EU Member States and neighbouring countries. The core of the INTERACT Programme is to set up information and communication networks, to define information frameworks and flows, to proactively disseminate information and to stimulate exchange of experiences.
INTERACT promotes the exchange of experience, makes best practise accessible to interested stakeholders in the European Union through an active programme of dissemination.
INTERACT provides support to upgrade all aspects of INTERREG programme management, for example the financial management and the project implementation. INTERACT also provides tools and know-how for managing institutional change and readjusting to new quality-control standards.

Dynamic Activities = Dynamic Structure the INTERACT Programme Secretariat based in Vienna is the backbone of the INTERACT Implementation structure. On behalf of the Managing Authority of the Programme (The Austrian Federal Chancellery) the Secretariat is responsible for the provision of technical assistance to the programme and for ongoing development and implementation
